Sing a Festive Song in Peaholm Park
15th Dec 2008
Guests staying in a Scarborough Hotel are expected to enjoy Festive music and song at a special carol singing event in Peasholm Park on Wednesday.
The free event, from 6pm, will start off with a traditional circle dance at the Lily Pond in Peasholm Glen.
Visitors to Scarborough Hotels can enjoy some carol singing which will then get under way as the procession make its way down the Glen.
Groups performing on the night include the Easy Concert Band, the Graham Community Choir, the Kevin O’Connor Irish Dancers and Morris dancers.
The event will conclude with a performance from the Scarborough in Song community choir and light refreshments will be on sale at the Buttercup kiosk.
Organiser Christine Mark told the Scarborough Evening News: “What a way to spend a couple of hours on a Wednesday evening before Christmas!
“We hope lots of people will come and enjoy the fun,” she said.
Ms Mark added that the Friends of Peasholm Park had produced a booklet containing the words to many of the traditional carols.
The booklets are free, but donations will be accepted towards the group’s costs.
All money raised will go back into taking care of the park.
